Wallet holds for backorders on Dot.st

Why Dropcatch places holds on your shared Dot.st wallet and when funds are released.

Backorders on Dropcatch.st share the wallet on Dot.st. Holds protect both you and the platform during catch and auction windows.

Why holds exist:

When you authorize a max bid, we reserve up to that amount so payment can complete immediately if you win. Without a hold, a win could fail for insufficient funds.

Where to view holds:

Sign in to Dot.st and open Billing. Holds appear alongside spendable balance. Your backorder detail page on Dropcatch.st may also summarize the linked hold.

When holds release:

If the catch fails, you lose an auction, or your backorder is cancelled in a permitted state, the hold returns to spendable wallet balance. Timing may take a short processing window.

Avoid declined settlements:

Before drop time, do not spend down wallet balance below active holds. Enable auto top-up on Dot.st if you run many backorders.

Holds are not charges:

A hold is not an extra fee on top of your bid. You pay only if you win at the final settlement amount.

If a hold looks stuck after the backorder clearly ended, open dot.st/support with the domain name and approximate drop date.
